A visionary entrepreneur from St. Louis, MO, with extensive experience in real estate, construction, healthcare, and social services. Driven by a deep passion for addressing the challenges families face, she founded The Covering, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering fathers to embrace their role as the head of the family. The Covering provides essential resources to help fathers transition into their “God-given” position as providers and leaders for their loved ones. Tara’s mission centers on being the “woman who makes things happen,” leveraging her vast network of community resources to create lasting impacts of love, care, and compassion throughout St. Louis.
Initially, The Covering was established to support children at risk of entering the foster care system, offering them the protection and care that a loving father would provide. However, Tara recognized a deeper issue: fathers were often absent or uninvolved, leaving children without adequate support when close relatives or friends could not step in as guardians. In this pivotal moment, Tara felt called by God, hearing the message: “You cannot protect children without supporting fathers.” From this realization, the organization’s motto—Cover the Father, Cover the Family—was born.
Tara is committed to creating a safe and nurturing environment where fathers can grow and thrive in all aspects of life. She firmly believes that by strengthening fathers, entire families and communities can flourish. The Covering encourages men to believe in their ability to lead and support their families, fostering hope and unity.
A dynamic speaker, Tara frequently addresses community events, engaging political leaders and law enforcement to raise awareness about the unique challenges fathers face. She also advocates for often-overlooked issues, such as domestic violence against men by female partners, bringing these critical conversations into the public sphere.
In addition to her nonprofit work, Tara hosted The Men’s 911 Show, an internet radio program highlighting men’s issues and connecting listeners to valuable resources. The show garnered over a million listeners nationwide, amplifying Tara’s mission to support and uplift men, fathers, and families across the country.
